Day 1

Welcome to the Pressman B’Anan (Pressman “In the Cloud”) blog, which we will continue to update as the Covid-19 school closure continues. We know that there is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty in our world right now, and the goal of this website and blog is to support our community and help everyone feel a little bit less alone. Several times each week someone from our administration will post a message, a lesson, an update, and you are welcome to comment on the blog, to ask a question, or to reply online -- in other words, to help us bring the warm & haimish community of the Ganzberg building to the cloud.

Comment below and let us know - what are you worried about? What do you want us to write about, to comment on or to share? What resources will be most helpful?

We are committed to supporting you and to finding new ways to connect with our community. Because while our building might be closed, our community is open!

  1. Thank you so much for starting this blog! I will be visiting often. I have a question. I know that some of the online educational resources that generally require a paid subscription are offering free subscriptions to schools that are closed due to COVID-19. Does our school have logins/passwords for these sites? I tried to sign up for a Brainpop account (which I believe will be free at the moment), but it seems that only school employees (not parents) can sign up. If there is a list of logins and passwords that the school has requested that you are able to share, that would be amazing!

    1. By the way, the question above is from Lisa Petlak. My settings for some reason blocked my name.

  2. Hi Lisa - yes! We do have many sites we have been sharing with our parents. We will ask which ones we are allowed to share, as we don't want to take advantage of the sites that have made themselves available. Our teachers will be using many of the sites in their lessons as well.

  3. Hi! I hope everyone is safe and thank you all so much for all the work behind this. Can the classes/teachers consider use of Zoom, which allows the kids to see each other and their teacher in real time? I've seen it being used and it really seems awesome and helps the live connection to each other. Thank you, Jessica

    1. Hi Jessica - Thanks for your kind words. Classes will have different opportunities to gather in real time as a class or grade community. We're using GoToMeeting which is just like Zoom. These opportunities will be posted on the Distance Learning Google Calendar (which will be on our COVID website very soon) along with the link to access the video conference. Let me know if you have any more questions.
